Concessions

Electra Concessions is the entrepreneurial and financing arm of the Electra Group, which enables it to implement the Group's dynamic project lifecycle concept and ensure that each project receives optimal support from start to finish. This approach has led the Electra Group to garner unprecedented experience in large-scale BOT, PPP and turnkey projects, and has developed the powerful solutions required to undertake challenging, multidisciplinary mega projects.

Electra Concessions is responsible for the development, financing, management, and ongoing inspection of many complex turnkey projects in diverse fields, including construction, transportation, desalination, water, renewable energy, and large-scale public infrastructure. These projects enable all of Electra's subsidiaries to demonstrate their diverse technological and logistical capabilities. Electra Concessions' unrivaled experience and know-how have established its leading position in the field of PPP projects through SPC, EPC, and O&M companies.

In Israel, Electra’s many complex, large-scale concessions include Camp Ariel Sharon, the massive new IDF training campus in the Negev desert – a large project of national import; the Maale Gilboa pumped storage hydroelectricity project, which generates 300 MW of available power; and a complex distribution system for the Israel natural gas line (PRMS) throughout the Negev and southern region. Electra has also undertaken the development of sewage purification systems in Netanya and Arad.

Among other major projects are the new 32,000 sqm Tel Aviv Courthouse with its 5-level underground parking facility, lavish public entrance lobby, and 12-story office tower, in addition to an eco-friendly complex at Bar-Ilan University involving the renovation of six dormitory buildings as well as the construction of two brand new residential towers and commercial centers.

Electra Concessions is also responsible for the planning, construction, management, and maintenance of the extensive new 11-story Kiryat HaMemshala (Government Campus) building in Netanya, which includes four underground parking levels as well as various other basement zones. The building will be home to a range of government offices and other authorities, including the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, Population & Immigration Authority, and Rabbinical Court.

Additionally, Electra Concessions is working on another national mega-project under the PPP method. The “Fast Lanes” project involves planning, building, operating, and maintaining new high-speed toll lanes as well as integrated park-and-ride complexes and a dedicated transport system. Electra is now constructing the southern starting point in Rishon LeZion, which will include a park-and-ride lot with some 3,500 spaces.

Major public transportation concessions are the domain of Electra Afikim, Israel’s largest private company in the public transport field. Electra Afikim owns a fleet of some 1,400 buses, which are used to transport 80 million passengers every year (passenger trips) on around 450 public transport lines nationwide. Representing a significant step forward for the Electra Group in the operation of transportation infrastructure, this new subsidiary aims to become the leading transportation operator in the Israeli market, providing passengers everywhere with the finest transport services.
